1867 - 1921
Born on December 15th, 1867 in Oakland California, Ulric Lamarche died in Montreal in February 1921. He was a painter, caricaturist and teacher of fine arts. He studied fine arts in Montreal where he was a student of J. Chabert. He went to Paris in 1891, he studied at the Academy Colarossi and Julian also in the workshop of J.L. Gerome. He made throughout his career many trips to Europe.

Back in Quebec, he worked as a caricaturist for l’Action and Le Canada newspapers. Also known for his summer landscapes with an impressionistic touch, typical of the painters of that period, who had training in Europe.
