Born in Quebec City, Denyse Lavigueur studied the painting under Canadian and American teachers. She joins the École des Beaux-Arts de Québec and chooses the watercolour medium, which she still uses today, more than 30 years after her debuts.

Owner of the first price of painting at the Centre d’art de Lévis and the Société artistique de Charlesbourg, she wins in 1994 the silver medal at the international gala of visual arts in Montréal. Her watercolour paintings are part of the collections of Desjardins Valeurs Mobilières, Collège Jésus-Marie de Sillery, Hôpital Saint-Sacrement and Institut National de recherché scientifique. Some of her works have been sold in South American, United States and France, in addition to Canada.
Since 2005, she is official signatory member of the Société canadienne de l’aquarelle.
