Renée Powell started off as a musician and studied piano and violin. After her university years, she discovered a passion for photography, watercolour and oil painting.
She had an internship in foundry, where she developed her technique using rocks, wood and the lost-wax bronze casting technique.

Crude shapes occupy an important role in the artist’s work. To this brute force, she adds bronze. Nature inspires her and allows her to create unique pieces.

The artist lets herself be guided by the forms of these rocks used and shaped by time and weather.

Renée Powell’s work can be found in numerous private collections, and each of her sculptures wear her signature as well as the foundry’s seal.
