Alexis RCA

1940 -

Alexis Arts was born in the Netherlands in 1940. He first learned painting from his father, Dorus Arts, a renowned painter in the Netherlands. His learning process was highly influenced by the traditions of the famous 19th century Dutch Hague School. The Arts family moved in Montréal in 1955, where Alexis studied at the Montreal School of Fine Arts until 1960.

His artwork is noticeable for its strong atmosphere and its unique light. His pieces depict the subjects in a poetic finish.
He is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and has exhibited in numerous locations in Ontario and Québec. His work is part of various corporate and private collections throughout the world.
