1940 - 2010

Born in Quebec in 1940, Bruno Cote was known for having a strong personality. Besides, we could feel it in his works. He first started working in his family’s business in the advertising world. From letterer to artistic director, his work ethic and his enthusiasm make him stand out.
However, he was not fulfilled by his career in advertising. Since his childhood, he aspired to something more in life. He felt the urge to discover the country and experience freedom. He began exploring the woods and the outdoor life became a passion for him. It’s by being in nature, during the mid-60s, that he finds the inspiration to start painting. From this moment, he dreams of only one thing, to paint on a regular basis.
In 1978, he moves in Charlevoix where he holds his first solo exhibition. Despite the abundant source of inspiration that are the landscape in Charlevoix, it is enough anymore for the artist, and he sets out to discover the rest of Canada. He explores the country from east to west and paints the wonderful landscapes that he is now known for.
