Born in Québec in 1949, Claudette Castonguay has been pursuing her own artistic style for more than 30 years. She is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist and she has been exhibiting her work since 1979. She has been devoting her time to painting professionally since 1984, after she retired from teaching.

Claudette Castonguay is known for her spontaneous, sensitive and humorous work. She depicts the Quebecois ‘’joie de vivre’’ with elegance through her unique characters. In her collage work, the artist uses a variety of colors, papers and fabrics to create original pieces. Cities, bicycles, wine, animals, and many more are themes commonly found throughout her work.
Her art is exhibited in many galleries in Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
