1944 -
Remi Clark was born in Québec in 1944. He first studied applied sciences at the Institute of Technologies and also painted for a couple of years before exhibiting his work.
In 1981, he decided to start painting full time and in 1982, his career officially debuted with his participation to the Baie-Saint-Paul International Symposium of Contemporary Art. In 1986, he was awarded a scholarship from the ministry of cultural affairs, which allowed him to go on a study trip to France. This experience was extremely rewarding for his career as a painter.
Since then, strongly inspired by Québec landscapes, he mainly depicts familial scenes or moments of daily life in the province. A warm light and happiness always emanate from his paintings which highlight the many joys of life, both small and great, through simplicity and an abundance of colours.
