Luigi Tiengo was born in 1926 in Adria, in the Veneto region in Italy. He first completes studies in technical drawing, but the watercolour courses he gets from famous painter Antonio Tumiati push him to pursue his passion for painting as a full-time activity.

He moved to Canada in 1956, which gave him a new enthusiasm that is reflected in his art. He considers that art should know no bounds and that an artist should not be restricted to only one location or theme. That is why he frequently travels throughout Europe, USA and Canada.
Tiengo likes to depict urban scenes of Montréal and natural landscapes from the Eastern Townships, where he has a farm and a studio. He has exhibited in numerous occasions in Europe and Canada and is one of the founding members of the Canadian
Watercolour Society. His works are part of private collections throughout North America, Italy and Germany.
