1930 -
Born on May 7, 1930, in Saint-Honoré de Chicoutimi, Marcelle Bouchard loves to paint her country. She started painting at the age of 50 after having been a teacher, an accountant, and a professional model. A self-taught artist, she creates naïve pieces that make us relive everyday life in the form of anecdotes and events. Spontaneity and freedom of expression are omnipresent in her paintings. She likes to illustrate the past and draws inspiration from cultural, social, religious, and historical activities to tell the story of her country. Her work expresses the joy and purity of the human soul.
