Mario Mauro (1920-1984) is mainly known for his religious subjects and his landscapes. He expresses himself through an impressionistic style using various mediums among which oil, watercolour, mosaic and stained-glass window.

He grew up in Rivignano, Italy and studied at the Academy of Spilibergo from 1934 to 1938. There, he studied drawing, painting and mosaic. He then moved to Milan in 1938 to study painting at the Aacdemy of Arts of Brera.
The talented artist left his native country to settle permanently in Québec in 1950. Upon his arrival and until the end of his career, he worked on creating frescoes, stained-glass windows and mosaics for churches in Quebec and other Canadian.
