1916 - 1998

Maurice LeBon was born in Québec in 1916. He first studied at the Seminary of Québec and then at the Seminary of Sherbrooke. He then enlisted in the army during World War II, but came back to Québec due to an injury.
After his return he met the artist Francesco Iacurto, who was his teacher for many years. LeBon is renowned for his landscape paintings as well as his depictions of urban life in Québec City.
In 1992, he was appointed as a member of the Québec Garrison Club.
His paintings are part of prestigious collections among which the private collections of different Canadian prime ministers and of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
LeBon passed away in 1998.
