Biography

Born in Santiago, Chile, Humberto Pinochet now lives in Quebec. The son of artist Sylvia Araya, he grew up in a family of artists and spent his childhood on a ranch where painters, sculptors, writers, and other members of the artistic community used to gather. Pinochet studied at the Catholic University of Valparaíso, as well as at the Faculty of Architecture and the School of Graphic Design. He also graduated from the School of Visual Arts at Laval University.

Humberto Pinochet devotes himself entirely to painting, his passion, and participates in various artistic and cultural events. Throughout his career, he has won numerous awards and distinctions, including the title of Academician awarded by the International Academy of Fine Arts of Quebec in November 2006, Academic Advisor in 2007, and Master of the Academy in 2009.

For Humberto Pinochet, travel is a constant source of inspiration. His artworks, encompassing a wide range of themes, are windows onto a world the artist invites us to discover. Urban scenes, landscapes, and seascapes are among his preferred subjects. His artistic style is characterized by intense colors, exotic subjects, and above all, light. His pictorial universe is constantly evolving. His works can be found in numerous galleries and corporate and private collections throughout Canada, the United States, and France, primarily.
