Gérard Lapointe has been feeling a strong attraction to the art world since his childhood. As early as he could, he started drawing and quickly developed a great talent. He later started painting and decided to focus on this medium.
His artistic career officially started in the 1980s. Curious, the artist always kept on perfecting his work, developing new ways of painting and reading on art history and art techniques. He has a very personal and spontaneous vision of the landscapes he depicts. He always paints directly in the outside and delivers the beauty of nature’s colours with accuracy and fineness.
For him, creation must trigger emotions and initiate a dialogue between the painting and its viewer. Strength and poetry emanate from his paintings, which transport us in a universe at the border of fantasy. The Charlevoix region fascinates him and has been for him his main inspiration source.
