St-Hilaire, Micheline

St-Hilaire, Micheline

Biography

Micheline St-Hilaire is a Canadian painter born in Montreal in 1947. She first studied education and divided her time between teaching, family life, and artistic practice before fully dedicating herself to painting.

She trained under painters and instructors Rémi Clark and St-Gilles, developing her artistic world through the landscapes of Quebec, which she considers her true studio. Her travels to Boston, New York, and Paris further enriched her creative perspective.

Over time, her work evolved toward a more expressive style, characterized by rich colour and emotional depth. She often paints luminous houses, warm interiors, and memory-filled scenes of everyday life. Flowers, domestic objects, and animals frequently appear in her compositions, creating welcoming and lively visual worlds.

Since 1987, her work has been exhibited in galleries across Quebec, Canada, and internationally, and is now part of numerous private and public collections in North America and Europe.
