MicInnis, Robert Ford

Robert Ford McInnis was born in 1942 in New Brunswick. He studies art until 1961. He starts working as a photographer for the newspapers Telegraph Journal and Evening Times Globe in Saint-John’s.

After a short stay in the Air Forces still as a photographer, McInnis moves to Ottawa and works as a graphic illustrator for the Département des Transports from 1966 to 1967. He moves next in Britain Columbia where he becomes the chief of the Arts Department at the Prince George College from 1968 to 1971.

When he turns 30, he decides to live only for his art. He travels all around the Canada to find an inspiration. Well renown for the public figures portraits that he makes, we can now find lots of his works in public as well private collections.
